Jorge Rando Malaga, 1941) es un Pintor Español neoexpresionista. Con veinte años, y tras finalizar sus estudios de filosofía, Jorge Rando se trasladó a Colonia. Desde entonces ha estado profundamente vinculado a Alemania y su obra se ha visto fuertemente influenciada por el arte y la cultura centroeuropea . Junto con su mujer, Margit, Rando regresó a España en 1984, alternando desde entonces su residencia entre Málaga y Hamburgo . En esos años, su pintura, estrechamente relacionada con eoexpresionismo germánico, ha tenido ocasión de ser contemplada en espacios expositivos de España,otros países de Europa y Estados Unidos . La pintura de Rando se caracteriza por la distorsión exasperante de la forma, la emotividad del color y la presencia del gesto y el trazo. Usa también el dripping(chorreado), herencia del expresionismo abstracto estadounidense. Trabaja principalmente por series. Desde finales de los sesenta y principios de los sesenta han destacado algunas como Prostitución, Las maternidades, Pesadumbres, Animales, Paisajes, África, etc. Otro aspecto importante de su obra es la producción religiosa, que supone, además, rescatar temas capitales en la configuración del arte occidental. En la serie dedicada a la Pasión de Cristo usa fundamentalmente el magenta, el verde y el negro, aunque también hay toques de amarillo, rojo y azul.Cristo aparece aquí ultrajado, como un ser doliente que representa a todo el género humano. En algunos cuadros de esta serie, como en el dedicado a la tercera caída, el lenguaje expresionista se hace más elocuente.

In these years, his painting narrowly related to the Germanic expressionism, has had occasion to be contemplated in explanatory spaces of Spain, other countries of Europe and the United States. The painting of Rando is characterized by the exasperating distortion of the form, the emotionality of the colour and the presence of the gesture and the line. It uses also the (poured) dripping, heredity of the abstract American expressionism. It works principally for series. From ends of the sixties and beginning of the seventies someone of them have emphasized as Prostitution, The maternities, Sorrows, Animals, Sceneries, Africa, etc. Another important aspect of his work is the religious production, which supposes, also, rescuing cardinal topics in the configuration of the western art. In the series dedicated to Christ's Passion there uses fundamentally the magenta, the green and the black, although also there are touches of yellow, red and blue. Christ turns out to be here outraged, as an aching being that it represents to the whole human race.
